The fact that almost all the saloons to host the championship have been
completed will bring TBF very important advantages to spread, sublimate and
develop basketball. Thus, an important part of concentration regarding
preparation works will be able to be allocated to promotion and marketing of the
FIBA World Championship for Women.
The fact that Turkish Basketball Federation and Istanbul left behind Melbourne,
a city which hosted the most important sports organizations in the world, by
landslide is attributed to the knowledge and ability of TBF in high level sports
organizations, to the success of Istanbuls in important sports organizations in
recent years, the increase in trust for Turkey in recent years, to the
presentation which has been prepared meticulously and which has got credits and
to the support of state that TBF feels all the time.
It is also A Social Responsibility Project
First element that motivated Turkish Basketball Federation for candidature of
hosting 2014 FIBA Basketball Championship for Women is its intention to invest
in womens basketball. TBF, an organization which considers the championship not
solely as a sportive organization but also an opportunity for millions of young
girls who are being raised, aims to increase its works regarding this area to the
highest level with the help of the championship.
USA is the First and the Last Champion
