Upon arrival at Delhi International Airport, you will be met & assisted by our representative and later transferred to your hotel for overnight stay. (Accommodation available from 1200 Hrs noon). Delhi is India’s capital and a major gateway to the country, contemporary Delhi is a bustling metropolis, which successfully combines in its folds – the ancient with the modern. Amidst the fast spiraling skyscrapers the remnants of a bygone time in the form of its many monuments stand as silent reminders to the region’s ancient legacy. The first impressions for any visitor traveling in from the airport are of a specious, garden city, tree-lined with a number of beautiful parks.
Morning after breakfast enjoying city tour of Delhi Tour to New Delhi, which reflects the legacy the British left behind. The division between New and Old Delhi is the division between the capitals of the British and the Mughals respectively. The division in the walled city and New Delhi also marks the division in the life-styles. The walled city is all tradition where one will be able to glean a past life-style in all its facets, colours and spells. New Delhi in contrast, is a city trying to live up to the best of 21st century standards.The tour to Imperial Delhi will include a drive pass Rashtrapati Bhawan, the President’s residence & Parliament building followed by a photo stop at the imposing India Gate. Later you will visit Lakshmi Narayan Mandir modern Hindu temple, Humayun’s tomb, built by the widow of the second Mughal Emperor Humayun, before returning back to your hotel you will also visit Qutub Minar, the tallest stone tower in India Later visit Old Delhi.Old Delhi tour will begin with a visit Jama Masjid, The Masjid-i Jahān-Numā, commonly known as the Jama Masjid of Delhi, is the principal mosque of Old Delhi in India. Commissioned by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan, it is the largest and best-known mosque in Asia, you will be also driving pass imposing Red Fort followed by visit to Raj Ghat, a simple memorial to Mahatma Gandhi. Enjoy Tri-Cycle Rickshaw ride just after visiting Jama Masjid, in the Old Delhi’s busy and narrow lanes.
After breakfast (Suggested time is 0800 – 0900 Hrs) drive to Jaipur by surface. Jaipur''''s past is never too far from hand. The city of victory, Jaipur presides over the fascinating desert state and its people: surrounded by rugged hills, each crowned by a formidable fort; and beautiful palaces, mansions and gardens dotted throughout its precincts. The palaces and forts of yesteryear that were witness to royal processions and splendour are now living monuments, accepted quite naturally into the lifestyles of the people of the "pink city". Except for the busy traffic of bicycles, cars and buses, little seems to have changed.On arrival check in to hotel, rest of the day at leisure and unwind after long travel on Indian roads.
Breakfast at hotel. Drive 11 kms outside the city this morning (Pick up time is 0800 Hrs) and take an elephant/ jeep ride atop the hill for Amber Fort, the ancient capital of the State until 1728. Maharaja Mansingh, Mughal Emperor Akbar’s most successful General, started the construction of Amber Fort in the 17th century. Before the City Palace was constructed in Jaipur, Amber was the seat of power. Among the highlights to be seen while touring Jaipur include the City Palace, which is an overwhelming complex of exquisite palaces, gardens and courtyards, decorative art and carved doorways. The palace museum houses collections of rare manuscripts, armoury, costumes, carpets and miniature paintings. Walk to the adjacent ‘Palace of Winds’, otherwise known as Hawa Mahal. Jantar Mantar, Batik Block printing work etc In the evening, strolls down into the vibrant bazaar enclosure of pink city
Early breakfast at hotel and then drive to Agra the city in terms of ambiance is still associated with its Mughal period. The Mughals besides being great rulers were also great builders and they preserved their best architectural wonders for Agra & its neighbourhood. Besides Taj, many other magnificent monuments are a testimony to the zenith and golden period of the Mughal architecture. En route visit Fatehpur Sikri en route. Fatehpur Sikri is 40 km before Agra. It is the deserted red sandstone city, built by the Great Mughal Emperor Akbar as his capital and palace in the late 16th century. It was abandoned soon after it was built when the local wells went dry and it remains today in much the same condition that it was over 300 years ago. It is complete with palaces and mosques and used to be a town larger than London when it was originally constructed. After tour continue your journey to Agra and check-in to your hotel.
Post breakfast visit Taj Mahal, that took 22 years and 20,000 men to build and its white marble was quarried 200 miles away and was transported to the site by a fleet of 1000 elephants. Built by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan as an expression of his love for his wife Mumtaz Mahal, in mid-17th century, the Taj Mahal is truly one of the wonders of the world. Later visit Red Fort. Agra Fort, the seat and the stronghold of the Mughal Empire under successive generations also visit its Hall of Public Audience and its Royal Pavilions. This impressive red sandstone fort was built by Akbar between 1565-1573 A.D. Replete with gateways, pillared halls, mosques, marble trellises and geometric gardens; the Fort represents Mughal architecture at its peak. Also visit baby Taj (Itimad-Ul-Daulah), Dayal Bagh & Sikandra.
Morning after breakfast, you will be transferred to railway station and connect train to Jhansi (0810 / 1025 Hrs). Arrive and you will meet with our representative and driver who’ll take you to Khajuraho, while visiting Orchha en-route. A visit to Orchha is a journey back in time. The cluster of fortified dwellings, temples and shrines, along the left bank of the Betwa River, are reminiscent of those hardy times. The central feature is Jehangir Mahal, and not far off, the imposing Lakshmi Narayan, Chaturbhuj and Ram Raj temples – each reinforce the Bundeli spirit in a profusion of ornamental paintings and legendary Jahangir palace.Continue drive to Khajuraho.Khajuraho, the temple city of central India, is famous throughout the world for its exquisitely carved temples in stones. Thousands of visitors and tourists from all over the world flock together to envisage this immortal saga of Hindu art and culture engraved in stone by shilpies (stone craftsmen) a millenium ago.
After breakfast, you will be met by guide who’ll take you on a sightseeing tour. Khajuraho, which is known for its legendary temples, belongs to both Hindu & Jain faiths. It is built between 9th & 12th century by the Chandela rulers; only 20 of the original 85 temples survive these days. The facades of these temples are replete with erotic sculptures & depictions of dance, music & other creative arts. The entire temple complex is divided into Eastern & Western group of temples. Later, you will be transferred to the airport to board flight to Varanasi. (Pick up time 1200 Hrs) Being one of the oldest cities of the world and an important Hindu pilgrimage center, Varanasi attracts a large number of people from all over the world. For centuries, Varanasi is famous for spiritualism, mysticism, Indian philosophy and Hinduism. Besides numerous temples, Varanasi also boasts of Buddhist Stupas and Jain temples. The principal attraction being is the bathing ghats that are always bustling with life at any given time of the day. On arrival met & assisted by an Indian Escape representative. You will meet the guide at the airport & from here on you head to Sarnath, a holy pilgrimage site for Buddhists. It is here (the deer park) where Gautama Buddha first taught the Dharma (faith). Overnight stay at hotel.
Early Morning enjoy a boat ride in the Ganges which gives the magnificent view of the early morning ceremony and prayers on the ghats of the Ganges. Return back to hotel and have breakfast, later proceed for the city tour of the Varanasi from the Heritage temples and the city. Starts from the visit of Durga temple called as the Sankat Mochan temple and the Bharat Mata temple. The Benaras Hindu University, one the most presumed educational institutions in India. Later you will be transferred to airport and connect flight to Delhi. Need to have US$ 25 in cash & 1 passport size photograph for VISA on arrival. Early Morning you are free for Mountain flight (OPTIONAL & subject to weather condition).Morning enjoy visit to Kathmandu city, Swoyambhunath stupa and Patan. A golden spire crowning a conical wooded hill, Swayambhunath Stupa is the most ancient and enigmatic of all the holy shrines in Kathmandu valley. Swayambhunath''s worshippers include Hindus, Vajrayana Buddhists of northern Nepal and Tibet, and the Newari Buddhists of central and southern Nepal. Swayambhunath stupa is also called the `Monkey Temple'' because of the many hundreds of monkeys who scamper about the temple at night after the pilgrims and priests have departed.Located about 5 km south of Kathmandu in the Kathmandu Valley, on the southern side of the Bagmati River, Patan is one of 3 royal cities in the valley. A destination for connoisseurs of fine arts, Patan is filled with wood and stone carvings, metal statues, ornate architecture, including dozens of Buddhist and Hindu temples, and over 1200 monuments. The city is known for its rich tradition of arts and handicrafts and as the birthplace of master craftsmen and artists such as Arniko and Kuber Singh Shakya.
Morning you are free for Mountain flight (OPTIONAL & subject to weather condition- if earlier day).After breakfast, check out and leave for airport. Enroute visit Pashupatinath temple. Pashupatinath Temple is one of the most revered pilgrimage destinations in Nepal. Dedicated to Lord Shiva, this Hindu temple is situated in the heart of Kathmandu. Declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, Pashupatinath Temple employs pagoda architecture. The roofs of the temple are made with copper and painted with gold. The main festival of the temple is Shivaratri which is celebrated every year with huge enthusiasm and gala. Only Hindu pilgrims can enter the premises of the temple. Non-Hindus can admire the beauty of the temple from the other side of the Bagmati River, on the banks of which Pashupatinath Temple stands. After tour, continue drive to airport and connect flight back home.
