Welcome to Bangkok, Thailand’s bustling capital. Guide and driver of Travel Thailand will meet you outside the baggage claim of the airport and take you to your hotel in the city center. Enjoy the rest of the day at your leisure to recover from jet lag and explore the city on your own.
After breakfast at the hotel, your guide will pick up and take you to a Harbor on Chao Phraya River to get on a boat to explore the traditional Thai klongs (canals) and see the still-active waterborne life of the Nonthaburi residents. Then, visit Wat Arun which is known as Temple of Dawn – one of the best well-known sites in Bangkok. It is best seen from the opposite side of the river. After visiting this Wat, you head to the Grand Palace which is the official of King Siam since 1782 made up of numerous buildings, halls, pavilions set around open lawns, gardens and courtyards. It is located on the bank of Chao Phraya River. Inside the Grand Palace complex is Wat Phra Kaeo or Temple of the Emerald Buddha – the most beautiful and sacred Buddhist temple in Thailand. The following visit is Wat Pho – the temple of reclining Buddha. The temple has a long list of credits: The oldest and largest temple in Bangkok, the longest reclining Buddha and the largest collection of Buddha images in Thailand, the first public education institution.
This morning, leave Bangkok for Ayutthaya – 80 kilometers from Bangkok. The first stop is the Bang Pa-In Summer Palace also known as Summer Palace located 18km from Ayutthaya on the bank of Chao Phraya River. Arrive in Ayutthaya – the ancient capital for over 400 years. You will visit Wat Maha That – an over 600 year old temple and Wat Na Phra Mane. Wat Na Phra Mane is still in good condition and was used as the Burmese military headquarters during the war. Inside this temple, you will see the sparkle Golden Buddha with the three thousand-year-old Buddhas carved from green stone which are extremely valuable national relics. Your driver and guide will take you to Phitsanulok for the night.
Enjoy breakfast at the hotel before setting your drive to Sukhothai. Stop enroute to visit Wat Phrasriratanamahathat or another name is Wat Yai Temple. Built in 1357 and later developed into a monastery, this temple now houses Phitsanulok’s most revered statues of Lord Buddha. Continue your drive to Sukhothai and spend most time to visit Sukhothai Historical Park, whose remains have been classified as World Heritage of Humanity. This magnificent site is easily accessible by biking; this is how we suggest you to visit (if you have energy to bike). After that, the driver will take you to Lampang, check in your hotel and relax.
In the morning, transfer out of town, the beautiful complex of Wat Phra That Lampang Luang is the main attraction in Lampang which is one of the best preserved examples of Lanna style temple architecture in Thailand. After that, setting up your drive to Chiang Rai. Upon arrival, check in your hotel and take a break. If time permit, you will visit Wat Rong Khun (White Temple) and the local market.
Depart from your hotel in the morning to Mae Sai Border - the Northern most point of Thailand), where you can also experience the local lifestyle of people at the border point. Then continue your trip to the Golden Triangle, where the Ruak River and the Mekong River meets forming the border of three countries, and the opium museum. Thereafter, you will take a boat trip on the river to view the splendor of mighty Mekong River.
Continue your trip to the ancient city of Chiang Sean at Wat Chedi Luang, and return to town by sunset.
After having breakfast and check out your hotel, the driver will take you up to Chiang Mai - “New City”. Upon arrival, set out on a guided tour to the most famous and interesting temples in the city – Wat Sri Supan, Wat Phra Singh and Wat Chedi Luang clustered conveniently close to each other. Rest of the day, enjoy the atmosphere at one of the most famous market in Thailand – Chiang Mai Night Bazaar.
Breakfast shall be served at the hotel and then we will visit one of the popular Elephants Camp, where you can see the Elephants at work. You have a chance to ride the elephants crossing the river into the forest. Then return by Oxcart to the elephant village to have lunch. After lunch, enjoy a bamboo rafting adventure along the river for around 45 minutes. Onwards to an orchid farm where there are many beautiful species of orchid. And after that going back to the hotel and free at leisure.
This morning, drive up Doi (Mount) Suthep to visit Wat Phrathad Doi Suthep – 3,500 feet above sea-level, the most sacred temple in Northern Thailand, containing a holy relic of Lord Buddha. You will have a panoramic view of the city from this height. Then driving to the airport for your afternoon flight to Phuket. With a long stretch of beaches and a smattering of costal islands, Phuket is the perfect tropical, beach getaway. Check in to your hotel then enjoy the rest of the day at your leisure.
Enjoy an entire day free for basking in the sun or bathing in the warm coastal waters. This is the time when the dream of spending holidays in an exotic country becomes a reality.
