Two different regions, Kackar Mountains - the wildest part of northeastern Turkey and Mount Ararat - the legendary highest mountain of Turkey, will allow us to meet the highest mountains of Turkey, the earliest periods of history and the mixture of different cultures. Ideal for those who enjoy intensive trekking, this tour includes 2 summit days with a level of difficulty at high altitude. The highlights of this tour include Mount Kackar (3937m) climb the highest summit of the Kackar (Little Caucaus) range with full porterage - difficulty II, Mount Ararat (5165m) climb the legendary mountain with full porterage - difficulty III, Isahk Pasha palace visit the 17th century Ottoman palace.
You will be met by our tour leader at the Erzurum airport and then transfer to Yusufeli. Overnight in Yusufeli.
Transfer to Yaylalar village. In the afternoon, we depart for our warm-up trek in Korahmet Valley, where the Bulut Mountains dominates the view ahead. There is an opportunity to meet with the local villagers. Return for Dinner and camp overnight in Yaylalar.
One of the best treks in the Kackar Mountains, this day trip is not very challenging but the scenery makes you glad to be in Kackar. Return for Dinner and camp overnight in Yaylalar.
We trek up to Dilberduzu via High Mountain pastures following the stream comes from the glaciers. During the trek we may encounter the villagers that live here during the summer to graze their flocks. Dilberduzu campsite (2900m) is a flat meadow by the stream surrounded by the steep hills. Today we will ascend Kachkar summit (3917m) - this takes around 5-6 hrs and involves some walking on snow but very little actual climbing. After breakfast, we have an early start departing for the Mount Kackar Summit. An easy but demanding ascent over rock and scree without any technical difficulties. The view from the summit above the clouds is simply stunning with views over the whole Kackar range, and beyond to the Caucaus. On a clear day, you may have chance to see the legendary Mount Ararat. After a short break on the summit, return to our Dilberduzu campsite. If you do not wish to participate in the summit ascent, there are many day trips that you can do instead. There are many stunning lakes in the area for swimming opportunities. Overnight camp at Dilberduzu.
In the morning descend to Yaylalar village and transfer to Yusufeli. This is your day of relaxation after your trek, the small town known as one of the best rafting centres in the world. Dinner and overnight at pension in Yusufeli.
After breakfast, we make a half day drive to Dogubeyazit, enjoying free time in the afternoon. Dinner and overnight at hotel in Dogubeyazit.
In the morning, transfer to Eli Village by truck where our Mount Ararat trek will start. Then trek to Mount Ararat base camp at 3200 m. Camp overnight at Mount Ararat.
Today we will make our acclimatization trek to the Second Camp (4100m) and then return back to Base Camp. Camp overnight at Mount Ararat.

An early start to the Summit, crossing the upper snow covered slopes to finally reach the summit of one of the world's most enigmatic peaks. The ascent is demanding, however those attempting it should be confident in their own physical ability. Although previous experience with ice axe and crampons is not essential, but it is recommended. We return to the Base Camp for overnight at Mount Ararat.
According to weather conditions on Day 11, a second summit attempt will be made. Otherwise; in the morning, descend to Eli Village and transfer to Dogubeyazit. Visit Ishak Pasha Palace, the Ottoman governor Ishak Pasa constructed the palace in 17th century with a mixture of architectural styles. Then we drive to Van, the ancient Urartian capital of Tuspa. It is located on the east coast of Turkey's biggest Lake Van. Dinner and overnight at hotel in Van.
